Ovie Success Ossai, the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Media, has stated that political dynamics in the South-East are shifting ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the region’s support for Peter Obi expected to weaken compared to the 2023 polls.

In a post his Facebook page on Thursday, July 2, 2026, Ossai argued that Obi’s strong showing in the 2023 presidential election would not be easily repeated.

He attributed the alleged shift to the growing influence of key political figures in the region who he said are now aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, governors such as Alex Otti of Abia, Charles Soludo of Anambra, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Peter Mbah of Enugu, and Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi have all gravitated towards the current federal administration.

He suggested that their support is driven by perceived developmental gains and ongoing federal engagements in the region.

Ossai wrote, “That massive votes from South East, Peter Obi won’t get it. The massive votes are going to Tinubu (APC). Alex Otti is with APC, Soludo is with APC Hope Uzodinma is with APC, Peter Mba is with APC, Francis is with APC. They would rather settle for Bola Tinubu than Peter Obi because they have all seen Tinubu Impacts in South East.”Read/Watch More Here…
